Their ministry began at Good News Chapel Montreal, where they profoundly impacted the church's young adults. They have now stepped into their roles as lead pastors of Good News Chapel Vancouver. SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

Good News Chapel Vancouver is seeking a dedicated and highly organized Administrative Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis, working approximately 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our church office, providing essential support to our pastoral staff, congregation, and various church ministries. This position requires a proactive individual with excellent communication skills, a heart for serving others, and a strong commitment to the mission and values of Good News Chapel.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT IN THIS ROLE:

● Office Management: Manage daily operations, including handling phone and email communications, coordinating building rentals, maintaining office supplies, producing newsletters, and recording meeting minutes

● Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive support to the pastoral staff by managing scheduling, handling correspondence, preparing documents, and fulfilling all assigned tasks

● Event Coordination: Organize church events, manage logistics, and coordinate meetings

● Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, manage financial processes, and coordinate effectively with the bookkeeper and accountant

● Communication: Act as the primary contact for members, visitors, and vendors

● Social Media & Website: Approve and proofread all content before posting

● General Support: Provide administrative assistance to ensure smooth daily operations, with your role adapting as the church grows

WHAT DO YOU BRING TO THIS ROLE:

● Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree is an asset

● Experience: 1-2 years of previous administrative experience, preferably in a church or non-profit setting

● Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Gmail, Outlook, and other applications such as Google Drive and or Teams

● Personal Attributes: Strong interpersonal skills, a heart for ministry, a team player, excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, strong written and verbal communication skills, Ability to handle multiple projects effectively, and a commitment to the values and mission of Good News Chapel.

● Other: Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and flexibility to accommodate varying schedules, including occasional evenings and weekends as required

Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience)
